Built in 1820 and prominently located close to Marble Arch, Hyde Park Place is one of London’s last surviving Georgian town palaces. Tessuto accepted the challenge as lead designer and crafted a layout and design in response to our clients brief: to restore the Grade II listed property from abandoned offices into a classical and contemporary residential London town palace. The design had to be timeless yet future-proof and include a new 3,500 sq ft basement. The property which spans over seven floors is serviced by new passenger and service lifts and includes five principle reception rooms with three interconnecting ballrooms on the “piano nobile”, a master bedroom suite, study, two guest suites, five further bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, four kitchens, two roof terraces, staff facilities and a basement leisure suite comprising of a cinema, pool, gym and spa.
All period features including the original fireplaces, central stone staircase and Victorian and Georgian plasterwork were restored by expert craftsmen. We integrated Creston Home Automation, allowing touch screen control of the Security and Door Entry System, Programmable Lighting and Climate Control and Multi Audio-visual System.
