Project value GBP 1.6m Project GIA 270sqm.
As lead designer, Tessuto was commissioned to design and oversee the transformation of this period cottage in Kensington. The works included the excavation of a double basement below the property and the addition of a second-floor mansard, more than doubling the property’s original GIA to 270 sqm.
The narrowness of the site called for the complete reconfiguration of the internal space, in order to create a home with spacious living areas, a generous master bedroom suite and 3 further ensuite bedrooms. Tessuto designed a bespoke curved staircase in the centre of the building footprint, to minimise the amount of circulation space and maximise the size of the rooms on each floor. Custom joinery designs and a contemporary scheme of specialist materials were specified to give the house its luxurious feel.
